In September 2014 the system of livestock transport, handling and hanging of the birds was rebuilt at a cost of 1.5 billion Ft. Consequently the product portfolio of the company was changed.

From the 1st September 2014, Hungerit has stopped slaughtering fat duck and fat goose. The company shut down the farms where parent ducks and goose were raised for foie-gras production and terminated the contracts with these suppliers.

This change has been documented by independent auditors TÜV Rheinland.  An on-going agreement has been made that they continuously do audits to see that the production of fat poultry products has been discontinued.
